Paul Gustave Doré (January 6, 1832 – January 23, 1883) was a French artist, engraver, illustrator and sculptor. Doré worked primarily with wood engraving and steel engraving. Doré did the engravings for the La Divina Commedia by Dante between 1861-1868. These are original professional high resolution scans from the book pressed by Stabilimento Dell'Editore Edoardo Sonzogno in 1869.
